BaZi, the Chinese astrology of the four pillars
BaZi, "eight characters", describes your birth in four pillars: year, month, day and hour. Each pairs a heavenly stem with an earthly branch, tied to the five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, water.
The heart of the chart is the day master, the stem of the day pillar: it stands for you. The other elements feed, drain or control it, and draw the balance of your temperament.
- The year pillar: roots, family.
- The day pillar: yourself and your partner.
- The day master: your central element.
A symbolic, introspective reading: not fortune-telling, not hard science.
